How It Works
At its most elemental, the Piano Life Saver continuously monitors the humidity inside your piano and gently dries or humidifies to maintain a stable environment.

HUMIDISTAT
Constantly monitors relative humidity and senses whether the surrounding air is too dry or too damp.

DEHUMIDIFIER
When the humidity level is too high, the dehumidifier warms the damp air to lower moisture levels.

HUMIDIFIER
When there is not adequate moisture, the humidifier supplies moisture.

LIGHT PANEL
Indicates that the system is on and functioning properly, requires water or needs new pads.
EFFECTS OF RELATIVE HUMIDITY
MOIST CONDITIONS
As the soundboard absorbs moisture from the air, it swells, producing an upward bulge. Through the bridge, this puts additional tension on the strings, causing a pitch too high (sharp) in the lower mid-range and extreme treble strings.
DRY CONDITIONS
When the soundboard shrinks and flattens, the tension of strings over the bridge becomes inadequate. The pitch of the midrange and treble strings is now flat.
